Castel lluc
In the Northwest of Majorca, amidst the Tramuntana mountain range, in a basin with an altitude of 525m, you will find the well known place of pilgrimage Lluc with its homonymous monastery. The monastery was founded in the 13th century. For many Mallorca connoisseurs the boy’s choir is just as well known as the monastery itself. It is called the choir of the “Blavets” (blue collar). The choir and the boarding school have existed for more than 500 years, thus it is the second eldest choir of the world. Twice a day the Blavets give a brief concert. The complex of buildings of the monastery with its beautiful inner courtyard and the basilica like, adorned church is definitely worth seeing. On the first floor of the monastery there is a little museum, in which ecclesiastic, artistic and archeological items are exhibited.
